Why yes, I can!

I love when people ask me if I can make them something to match something they already own. It started with a woman in my ward who had 3 necklaces she couldn't wear because she didn't have earrings to match. *Big Smile*. I had SO much fun shopping for beads to make her some earrings. When she wears a set to church I feel a great sense of accomplishment. After I opened my Etsy shop I thought I might close this blog. However, I then realized that I wouldn't have a place to offer customized stuff. So, if there is something you are wishing you had, let me know!!

Most recently my sister Stacy told me she had some earrings that she loves; however, does not have a necklace to match. I don't have a picture of the earrings, but this is what I made for her. She'll have to tell you how I did.

On the same day, my mom asked me to make some necklace and earring sets to match some skirts she owns. She hasn't seen them yet, but I'm pleased with the way they turned out. The first set was for a black skirt with a coral pink color in it. We decided to go with an off-white and gold set to match.

The second set was for a black skirt with a gray and purple pattern.

I'm having so much fun! Seth makes fun of me every time he says, "what should we do today?" and I say, "let's go look at beads!" It's a very good thing we have a limited income or I think I would go crazy! Most of the time we go to the store I just look and dream...

New store

Thanks to the lovely and talented Deana Banks, I have decided to open an Etsy Shop. I spent this entire weekend making necklaces for a girl at work. As soon as I have a chance to take picture and post things on the website, I'll be able to open the shop. Stay tuned!

Jewerly Addiction

I'm addicted to making jewelry. My mom, sisters, and I got together a few months ago and my good friend Kirin taught me how. Now I can't stop!! Because I enjoy it so much, I now have too much, and I decided I may try to sell some of it. I do not know how popular this idea will be since so many people make their own nowadays. However, I thought it would be worth a try! So, the first part of this plan is to get the word out. Therefore, I'm going to give a pair of earrings away. Here's the catch: I need a title for this blog. I would like it to have something to do with my name (Julie Barrett) and I would like it to be clever. If you would like a chance to win the following earrings, here's what to do:

1. Follow this blog.
2. Post something on your own blog about it.
3. Post something on FaceBook about it.
4. Write a comment with your name idea and what color you would like these earring to be (if you don't like the red & silver).

All ideas will have an equal opportunity to win. Please submit your ideas before November 28th. Thanks everyone!
